The PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest
Open to students in grades K through 5, this contest encourages children to write and illustrate their own stories.  Local winners receive savings bonds and their families are invited to attend a special reception in their honor where each winner is videotaped in the WHRO television studio reading their winning entry.  A special television program-and accompanying web site- featuring the winners reading their stories is also created and aired.  All local winning stories are sent on to the national competition.

First Lego League
FLL is the result of an exciting alliance between FIRST and the LEGO Company.  Guided by adult mentors and their own imaginations, FLL students solve real-world engineering challenges, develop important life skills, and learn to make positive contributions to society.
