This workshop will cover the entire grantwriting process, including: the development of a concept into a program/project that the educator wants to fund, researching and identifying potential funding sources, writing the components of the grant application (need statement, narrative, goals/objectives, budget, evaluation), tips for submitting the grant, ways to increase your chances of success, and reporting to funder after grant is approved. This workshop will involve selecting a concept, developing a program/project and writing an actual grant application, for which feedback will be provided. Teachers should have a basic knowledge of navigating the Internet prior to taking the class. Please bring any grant proposal you have been working on or one that you have a potential of completing in the future.

The course will define a general problem-solving process that participants will employ in working with the curriculum. Strategies for utilizing the Internet and other technology-based resources in instruction and ethical / managerial issues associated with using PBL and computer technology with students will be explored. Students will learn to employ search techniques to locate information that will assist them in their study and presentation of Project-Based Learning. Participants will employ a variety of methods to prepare and present lessons using the Project-Based Learning approach. You may choose to take this course for 4.5 CEUs for $250.00 for a pass/fail grade. If you choose to do this, please make note of it on your registration form.

This session will show many different ways to use things such as United Streaming, MS Photo Story, MS Movie Maker, WebQuests, Marco Polo, Portaportal, Power Point, Excel, Kidspiration/Inspiration, Kid Pix and several web sites will be included. Samples of student work will be shared. This class is all about making your life easier as you learn to incorporate technology into your curriculum. Discussions of how this can be done in labs, wireless labs, classrooms with a few computers or classrooms with only one computer. Teachers will be given CD's with templates to be used with Word, and Power Point. Teachers will be actively involved from the time the class begins.

Integrating Technology With The SOL's

This session will show many different ways to use things such as United Streaming, MS Photo Story, MS Movie Maker, WebQuests, Marco Polo, Portaportal, Power Point, Excel, Kidspiration/Inspiration, Kid Pix and several web sites will be included. Samples of student work will be shared. This class is all about making your life easier as you learn to incorporate technology into your curriculum. Discussions of how this can be done in labs, wireless labs, classrooms with a few computers or classrooms with only one computer. Teachers will be given CD's with templates to be used with Word, and Power Point. Teachers will be actively involved from the time the class begins.

This program is easy enough for 5th grade students to use, but sophisticated enough for you to add all kinds of transitions, titles, and sound. This session requires that teachers come with digitized pictures and or digital cameras. Teachers will learn how to put pictures, video clips, and sound into this great program. Teachers are encouraged to bring jump drives to save movies. (this program needs XP ) Teachers will leave with a movie that they have created. Sample movies by students will be shown. Also- suggestions of how this can be used in the classroom.
