Educational Technology Leadership Awards
The Educational Technology Leadership Award recognizes one individual in each region whose outstanding work demonstrates a shared vision with the school division for the effective use of technology to support teaching, learning, and school administration and management. It honors those whose leadership has had a significant impact on instruction. Each region is recognized, and this year, two of the awards given were to C.I.I. School Employees. VETAC Award
At the 2009 Virginia Educational Technology Conference on October 28-30, 2009, the Virginia Educational Technology Advisory Committee (VETAC), which advises the Virginia Board of Education on educational technology, presented its 2009 VETAC Leadership Award to Ramesh Kapoor, chief information officer of Virginia Beach Public Schools. The award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated strong leadership both statewide and in their participation as a member of VETAC. Each VETAC member serves as an advocate for educational technology and acts as a conduit for communicating educational-technology-related issues between VETAC and the member’s host organization or affiliate. Mr. Kapoor has represented Large School Divisions of Virginia on VETAC for several years and currently serves as the Committee’s Secretary.
