Each summer in this weeklong residential immersion into technology participants learn databases, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, Internet tools, web design, multimedia presentations, and word processing, while focusing on the TSIP and technology standards. Tech Trek the Generation is for the more advanced user and the week covers online learning, web content creation technologies, and multimedia while focusing on Project Based Learning.
Tech Trek 2009 dates have been set, although we have had some funding changes, and there will only be one Tech Trek opportunity this summer. Tech Trek: The Next Generation is scheduled for July 27-31, 2009. If you are interested in registering, you must contact your C.I.I. Rep or C.I.I. Services Rep. Click here to find out if you are a member and to get the Rep info information. If your school or division is listed, then you are a member. If you are not a member and would like to attend Tech Trek, the cost is $999 and includes registration, material fees, all meals, and overnight accomodations.

The C.I.I. ran 2 Tech Treks during the 2008 summer season. Tech Trek is full of Technology, Learning, and FUN!! Check out the video below for a sneak peak into the Tech Trek experience. If you were at Tech Trek summer 2007, you may see yourself, or others you know.
Most of the Tech Trekkers signed up for the Tech Trek Ning site (http://techtrek.ning.com) where they can continue to collaborate, share photos, videos, etc. Ning is a FREE Social Networking website. For the Tech Trekkers that still need to join, do so TODAY!! Drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will then receive in invitation to join via email. If you attended Tech Trek prior to 2007, you are welcome to join as well by requesting an invitation. Just include the year you attended. If you are already a member, click below to login.

During week 3 of Tech Trek, some of the participants experimented with gcast.com to create a podcast. If you attended Tech Trek, and could like to add comments about your experience at Tech Trek to this podcast, drop a message to firstname.lastname@example.org to recceive the login and password. Then you can upload your audio file to the gcast website, and your file will automatically be added to this podcast. Click on the play button to hear a few of the podcasts that were created during Tech Trek.
