PBS Kids characters WORD GIRL and DUCK from Word World invited children and their families to come to the WHRO Booth and learn about our new literacy initiative PBS Kids Raising Readers on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Each child got a free PBS Kids Fun Pages booklet and other giveaways featuring their favorite PBS programs and characters. They even got their picture made with one of our characters. Also, every child playing one of our Fun Games won a special children’s book picked out just for them. And parents pick up “Anytime is Learning Time” tip sheets. 25 lucky parents names were drawn and received Raising Readers DVDs containing two SUPER WHY episodes and two Word World episodes. http://www.whrokids.org
