Teachers will be given pre-candidate professional development, an NBPTS Take One Entry, and full classroom and mentorship support throughout the entire academy experience.

VWC National Board Candidate Course Participants Achieve National Board Certification
As most educators know, the success rate for National Board Certification for first time active candidates is around 40%. VirginiaWesleyan College has a course that now has a proven track record of helping guide students toward successful certification. The first participants garnered an 80% success rate.
Out of the five students, four achieved National Board Certification on their first attempt. Although the course (a guided study) was only a small part of the overall effort given by these NBCT candidates, they have told us that the
PDS-NB2 experience gave them the direction and focus needed to complete their task with greater confidence and success. A humble beginning....with amazing results.
We encourage future candidates and active NBCT Candidates to visit the
VWC National Board Certification Support Program Web Site and investigate our Pre-Candidate and Active Candidate courses.
