NPR NEWS ANCHOR NEAL CONAN TO APPEAR AT WHRO EVENT
Talk of the Nation Host to Give Noontime Lecture at Chrysler Museum

Norfolk:  Neal Conan, host of National Public Radio’s Talk of the Nation, the popular national call-in talk show heard on 89.5 WHRV, will give a noontime lecture at the Chrysler Museum of Art on Friday, May 19, 2006, in the Museum’s Kaufman Theatre.  Admission is $15 for WHRO members, and $25 for the general public.
 Conan will speak about his experiences over the course of three decades in radio, and will take questions from the audience.  Conan has been based in New York, Washington and London, reporting on national and world events.  He was NPR’s Bureau Chief and anchored NPR coverage of political conventions and inaugurations, as well as the impeachment of a U. S. President.  He played a major role anchoring NPR’s live coverage of the events following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.  He has reported on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

 Conan has served as editor, producer and executive producer of NPR’s flagship evening news program, All Things Considered.  His current program, Talk of the Nation, is heard on WHRV 89.5FM every Monday through Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00pm.
